Help BigPimpin' Diagnose His Headunit

Recommended Posts

Got a Kenwood KDC-794.

Several videos explaining what happened, but here's a text list.

  • Have Front and Sub RCA's hooked up.
  • Swapped both sets and tried different pre-outs on back no change.
  • With just highs amp, noise is only white noise, undetectable after volume six.
  • As soon as sub amps are turned on, it sounds like someone applied BitCrusher to my whole fucking car.
  • Car on sounds three times worse.
  • I did accidentally drop the radio on the ground, but it landed bottom/face side first and the bracket took the grunt of the fall.
  • If I turn all three amps off, the H/U power on my tweeters sounds fine.
  • When they're on, they squeal like crazy also.

EDIT: Video With Sound Added

I was going to suggest a bad ground going to the head unit or feedback through the RCA's... maybe from them being by power wires or running down the middle of the car. I think it's just your head unit. All I can suggest is to try a different head unit and see if it has the same problems. Good luck!
