TRTC360
Well my car is in the paint booth and now that it's all taken a part I figured I might as well smoke out my tailights and turn indicators, my question is, how have you all done it and what have been your results? i'm looking to get a glossy finish as if they came blacked out stock, I want to make them as dark as possible without completely ruining the transparency of the lights, and what paint have you used? is there a specific type of paint to smoke lights? what's your favorite type of paint if you have done it? Best way for me has been using black toner mixed with intercoat clear and clearcoat afterwards... I'll post some pics in a few minutes, I just gotta track em down... SlamminBeats
I did 3 coats, cant see any black. Dont do them on a hot day outside! The key to gloss is to wet sand the shit out of them, then use a buffer tool to get the best results. Its very hard to gloss them up by hand. Audio-Concepts
If youre already in the booth, just go ahead and use black tinting agent in either a mid coat then clear, or you can tint the clear, either way you can judge you darkness by the amount of coats. I have about 8 coats, they are black during the day, but perfectly transparent for braking and night. I had a cop ask me if they were factory!
