Great Post! But why didnt you solder it instead of crimping?

I dont know...I probally could have but I didnt feel like doing it. My connections are more than solid IMO. cable is loomed, heat shrinked, and electrical taped....what more could I ask for..hehe

lol, megalo do u remember how long those runs were cause i was gunna do the same to my 93 accord, and were did u get the alt and if i may ask how much cause i was lookin for one round 200amp or prolly 150, oh and sense my truck has a 130amp alt i'll prolly go with the 300amp fuses i got in my dist block i baught, oh and doin big three to stock alt should inprove the life on it? or be better to upgrade and how many amps was the stock one u had cause when i had my old system in my honda i had my lights on brite and system all the way up and voltage stayed around 14.4 with car runnin, im thinkin bout takein that alt off n puttin it on the motor im gunna put back in

runs were maybe 4ft iirc. btw my accord is a 6th gen. I have an 200a Iraggi Amputator series.

Big 3 on stock?,will it improve life? idk. but will it help charge better, Yes.

if you upgrade your alternator the Big 3 is a MUST, if you buy an alty from Iraggi or EA they even give you a form letting you know you must upgrade wires.

biggest alts for imports is 200A. I have seen on guy put a 250A GM case alt(i dont remember what brand) on his civic but it required a custom regulator....to risky though

IMO-steps 8-12 (I think it was) need photos.

The most "confusion" I hear/see concerning big 3 upgrades are where/what is meant by "find a spot on the block".

I know it's kinda hard to explain that they (whoever is reading the tutorial) wil have to find a spot on the block that already has a ground wire or a spot for a factory "optional" block ground, and put a bolt there to secure a ground to the block-but that's the most "mistaken" or misinformed thing in my exp and I would def throw some pix of where you grounded on your as an example or just jack a "block ground" pic from one of the other 100 or so Tutorials out there.

Otherwise it looks good.

Sounds good.

i'll do so in the morning :)

the best pic i have right now is from a year ago. chasis should be named engine block and not chasis

Posted Image

Technically, both are correct:

The picture is of the connection AT block, but the other end of that cable IS connected to THE CHASIS...hence either name/statement is correct depending on your perspective (kinda a glass half empty/half full question).

But I'm glad you see what I was getting at w/ that pic.

You might also find/take a shot of the before/after of that spot so a person LOOKING for "a ground spot on the block" would know what to look for. The already installed ring/cable somewhat obscures what a person would be looking for before they attatched the cable.

Noob question, but how do you know what size fuse to run? im planning on using a 130 amp alt from the highlander as it is a direct swap for my camry. also would 130 be enough to run about a 1000 watt rms amp?

sorry for so many questions.

WHat size wireing are you using?

Please refer to the other stickies in this part of the forums as you'll find more needed information about wire fusing size...
