Wow Haze! Those turned out really nice, not that I had any doubt, but they are very nice looking bars. Nice set up up front! I wish I could fit two big batts up front. Very nicely done! Looking clean!

Thanks man, I appreciate it!

Yeah I'm really happy, now I can hook up a lot more wire!

And I was lucky to squeeze both batteries in there, it barely did fit.

But in the end, it was worth all the trouble, it is much better now!

A good strong front bank, starts the car like a champ!

And still plenty of room to grow... ;)

Okay well I got a little work done, nothing glamorous. Got my fender changed out (stupid deer), and got the rest of the deadner in the car.

Here are some pics.

Bam! She's on there, color isn't a perfect match, but I have seen worse, and from body shops! This isn't bad for a spray can job...

Then I decided it was time for deadner. First up was the Second Skin that I won from SOTM.

559419_378092502226748_100000780034606_943816_1421410054_n.jpg

So here is my car with the interior all stripped out. The deadner you see down already is the Hushmat I put down last year.

I need to do the doors, roof, floor from b pillar up, and all the pillars. Shooting for at least 90% coverage.

So here we go, let's see how well we like the Second Skin...

So I was able to get the roof, all 4 doors, and the b pillars, with my SOTM winnings. Thanks Second Skin, and everyone who voted!

I had some Audio Barrier that I held onto last, for the floor board. I figured it should go there, just in case it didn't wanna hold as well as the good stuff.

Got it under the dash, as far as possible

And that is now done! All I need is a little more for the roof pillars, probably another 20 sq ft. But that will have to wait, I can't spend any extra money till after the baby is born. But I'd say it's at that 90% coverage I was shooting for, and it should make a difference.

Up next: Doors and wall.

Stay tuned...

Well, I have a little update on my door panels.

I am ditching what I have now, and starting over from scratch. The reason is, that although the idea was good, the execution was not.

I was too worried about using the factory mount for the armrest, and the factory mounts for the panels themselves. Both being mistakes.

This time I will take what I have learned, and do it right!

So off to the lumber store I go, I'll update this thread as soon as I have made some progress.

I know, right...

Honestly, I don't expect to have the whole build done by then, but I am gonna try real hard to get the doors done, and the wall built and playing.

I'll probably just be there to hang w some bass heads, see some bad ass rides, and meet new people.

But hopefully I'll have the car able to demo at least. We will see!

Would be better if I had some help building the wall... hint hint ;)

As for updates on the doors, I finished the inner panels yesterday. Got the mounting points finished, that was the hard part IMO.

So now today I will start on the outer panel. This should be the fun part, all except the hours of sanding ahead of me...

I have some pictures, nothing too exciting. But I'll get them up tonight, along with pics from today.

It should be a lot easier to understand what I'm doing once the outer panels have at least been started.

Okay cool, here we go!

So I started from scratch on my doors, cause the other panels I had started were too thin, and needed too much work.

First I went and bought some 5/8" five layer ply. Should be a little stronger than the 1/4" "paneling" I was trying to use.

403540_381387531897245_100000780034606_951620_694327528_n.jpg

545018_381387621897236_100000780034606_951621_747139370_n.jpg

So I used the first panels I made for a template

543627_381387748563890_100000780034606_951623_437531889_n.jpg

543247_381387845230547_100000780034606_951625_681358475_n.jpg

And after several hours, here is what I came up with.

Each panel had to be built up to set level in the door, and cut out for the door handle bar that goes up behind them.

562151_381388008563864_100000780034606_951628_436281344_n.jpg

And the front side

So next up is to figure out a way to mount them to the doors, and make it so they can be easily attached, and detached. Here is what I came up with.

Notice the small blocks on the door. They are only there to allow the JB Weld to set up. Check it out!

576688_381388398563825_100000780034606_951633_245389104_n.jpg

First I drilled holes in the proper places, making sure the panels line up correctly. Then I added the groves to allow the t-nuts to go thru.

385700_381388518563813_100000780034606_951635_2132518808_n.jpg

Then insert the t-nuts from the backside, with some jb weld to keep them in place.

577670_381388581897140_100000780034606_951636_1120785900_n.jpg

And the block is just temp to allow the nut to be held into place while the jb weld sets up.

540204_381388628563802_100000780034606_951637_750907668_n.jpg

An in side view...

405145_381388708563794_100000780034606_951640_1544217864_n.jpg

Okay, so now that is done, time to figure out the outer panel!
