LZTYBRN
oh and gain is currently turned all the way up for both channels... and come to think of it, i didnt notice much of a difference when i tried adjusting them. hmmm Have someone set your gains with a DD-1 or o-scope. Or buy one yourself. Though with it all the way up they should still be loud, and this is the problem we're dealing with now. specifications say dual 2 or 4. amp is set to LP. Well which is it? voxigenboy
manual was no help so looked on the sub itself. says 4ohm
LZTYBRN
Okay, are they wired like the second option here? here look at this http://www.the12volt...ns.asp~Q~2~I~42 And is the amp bridged as per the manual? (looks like you just connect + to left channel and - to right channel)
voxigenboy
they follow that 2nd diagram except that the subs are not linked together since each is going to a seperate channel.
LZTYBRN
If I understand you correctly, that's 8 ohms per channel, which is probably about 100W per channel. Either wire them like the above diagram with the amp bridged, or you can do it like this on each channel: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=1&I=42#results (first one)

No wonder you have issues. You got the gain maxed out. The gain is not a volume knob. What are your head unit settings? You need to properly set the gains with a scope or DD-1. voxigenboy
well it ended up being a loose wire going to the amp. the subs are currently wired in "parallel" and working fine.
Rebel4055
You still need to learn how to gain your amp. The gain is not a volume knob. Quote Rest In Peace mother.
