Mikewood21
Can anybody help me.????? I'm trying to run two power and two ground runs from front to back. I have a 320 mechman alt for a jeep srt8. Four kinetik hc2400s will be in the back. I was told two run my two power wires straight to the alternator along with my two grounds to the alternator motor mount. I was told to take power 1 and run that two positive on battery 1 and the other positive wire on battery 3. Run ground wire one to battery negative 2 and the other ground wire to battery negative 4. Connect battery 1 and two together positive and negative and then batteries 3 and 4 . Then link batteries 2 and 3 together. I didn't have any room in the trunk cargo area for the batteries so they are sitting on the floor so with this being said that's y I'm linking 2 and 3 together. He also said run a power wire from the alternator to front battery positive. And then take the front battery negative and run to either the frame or the motor mount were the other two grounds are. My thing is y not run the two power wires from the back to the front battery positive and the same with with the negatives.
 0 64
varietyguy
First link your 4 kinetik's together in the back. Run 1 positive from your alt to the back batteries, and 1 positive from your front battery to the back batteries. Do grounds the same way. scooter99
Is it necessary to do the grounds the same way or can it be done to the frame on both ends instead? Necessary, no, recommended, yes. Just so I know, what is the difference between the two ways? Also, should i do this for my civic? I'm running a 220 amp mechman (going to install soon), and an XS Power D5100 up front with an XS Power D3100 in the rear. About 4000 watts potential but not all used I'm sure! carshateme
No quoting...since I have such big fans here...and I'm a newbie in electrical (Just learning)..but it is a better "complete" circuit when it's connected to the battery ground...better connection = less volt drop, but...its really not noticeable. Big spl guys care about it tho. Me? I connect all my stuff to my frame for I only run 2000 rms...can't even do that much cuz I have to get a better alternator than my pos.
