Colin - STAPUFT
Please make any comments HERE Well- with my Uninterrupted Build Log, I figured that I would start at the beginning.... and that is waaaay back. I got this van somewhere around 2001. While in College, I used to drive my 8 mpg big truck.... well, my grandmother moved on up in Astro Vans (don't laugh) and she gave me this van for a school commuter. Somewhere along the line, the Van became more than just a means of transportation (as vehicles have the tendency to do if you let them). I was always into Car Audio, but once I got the space of an Astro.... things began to get, well, out of hand. Everything has gotten older and fatter... including me. Sometime in summer of 2001. First setup in the van- 2 12" MTX 5000s Still running these amps and EQ It starts to get messy... Built an under middle seat box for 3 8"s. And when the Dash speakers weren't enough- I put JBLs in the doors. Made them to slide into the map holders (wasn't fully committed to this whole audio thing yet). Colin - STAPUFT
Please make any comments HERE Soon, that wasn't enough- so the gutting started. So I built this mismatched Abomination. Sealed with 4 12"s. it sounded pretty good though. I did like this box. Then I added more jazz to it, painted it a horrid blue and sprayed it with fleckstone. Ugly, yes. It actually metered a 156.9 (on the old Audio Control of course). Then got the Cerwin-Vegas. And heard a real sub for the first time. ...Then realized the error of my SEALED ways, and started on a ported box. But even here, I wasn't fully committed- I didn't want to go over the window line.... Colin - STAPUFT
Please make any comments HERE More box, more equipment. Realm of Excursion Videos!!! (Warning- they were filmed with a Potato) Spongebob can Breakdance! Yes... 3.5 cubes per sub. Tuned to 28 hz. This box was pretty crazy. Boomy as all get out though- Look! Balloons!!!! Old Pioneer Head Unit. Aura Bass Shakers under the seats. Started liking center channels.... Built a horrid door box and did a stoopid tweeter experiment. I don't recommend it. Never do this. It is only fun for like- 2 Seconds. Starting to become a bit more official.... Cerwin-Vega Stickers! Re-worked my original door pods and cracked out the fiberglass and built kick panel enclosures for new McIntosh Tweeters. And I developed a bit of a problem with MTX amps and Carver EQs! Old box amp board- Had to stack 'em!
