TexasJesse
So how does it sound? My Audiopipe AP30001D failed on me when I went to go install my box and subs. I wish I would have known it was going to go into protection when I started making the box so by the time I was done with the box, it would have had it repaired and already back in my truck by the time my box was done. So now I have a box with FOUR SA-8 V.2's just sitting under my rear seat. Box is fiberglass/wood combo at 3 cu ft tuned to 31hz. So Im sending my amp in today to get it repaired under warranty, but Im going to go ahead and buy two Audiopipe AP18001D's and sell my the 30001D. So instead of running 3000wrms, I'll be running 3600 wrms, plus it will be easier for me to mount the two 1800's rather than the super long 30" long 30001D on the back wall of my 2008 GMC SIerra Crew Cab. My subs are a bit different than the normal SA-8 V.2's. I have four SA-8 V.2 SPL editions. These aren't the SPL ones for competition burps, but they have the SPL coil with an added extra spider so these will be able to handle more power than the normal V.2's. So I'll be running 900wrms to each sub. One AP18001D @ 1 ohm on two SA-8's each. After some additional testing by Jacob, he said that these will fail mechanically before thermally. After testing, he bumped up the thermal power handling to 800wrms. So the initial 500rms rating of these subs is extremely cautious. So sending 500wrms with your Kicker 1000.1 will just be tickling your SA-8 V.2's. If you want to maximize your sound and output, I'd say got for a 1500wrms amp to send 750wrms a piece to these. They will handle it in stride daily no problem. Check out his testing here with the link he sent me.</p> http://www.splbassx....showtopic=11451 will say this. Mad props on your box quality build. Are you sure you aren't jerking us around by saying thats your first box? LOL That is awesome for a first box, let alone if you have been doing it for several years. My boxes dont even look that good lol
