Broke_Audio_Addict
Something is wrong with the caliber, Front suspension just started making a ton of noise. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. 3vil
Customer comes in to order a paint-to-match part. Without the vehicle present. Me: What color is it? C: Black. Me: Straight black, or metallic? C: Straight black. Until the sun hits it. Then it's metallic green. Me: So it's not black, it's actually green? C: Nope, it's black. Me: Call me when you get home and give me the paint code and the VIN. C: Why? It's just black. Thought they were all the same. Me: Well, really they're not, and if you want it to match when the sun is out, as well as when it's not, I need the code. C: You can't just order a black one? Me: I could, but you just told me the truck is green. So if I order a black one it's yours. No returns, no color match guarantee, paid in full in advance. C: Well that's BS. Me: It's a $1500 part. I'm not eating it when it's wrong and so simple to avoid... I think it's about time for me to get out of retail. Working in a paint shop I can totally relate to these feels. Customer brings in some fender flares for an f350, wants them color matched to his truck. Try to explain what color blends are and why we do them, and more importantly what to expect if we don't do them. He's not buying it, says just paint it the same color as the factory did. Bust out the color deck and the 11 variants for his charcoal and show him how each chip is a bit different. Try to explain how air pressure, temperature, humidity will affect how a color looks when it's sprayed, and how sun/uv exposure will age the original color over time. He says "fuck it, paint em satin black then".

I explain if they want any better we'll have to paint the truck and the parts together at the same time, and they'll be charged accordingly. Static drops are my bag.
