Skullz
NO Yes The larger handles allow to much pressure to easily snap a tap off, the T-handles are less likely to break a tap off and are much easier to use. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
s5300
Ehh, I run a straight bar pretty regularly through various heavy steels and other shit. Lube and proper support is important, as is drilling the proper pilot. I'm sure the T-handles are probably nicer and more ergonomic, but probably pretty expensive too. WalledSonic
I was rushing, definitely my fault. Either tool works great if you're careful. You know what else sucks? Not being able to remove the 60+HRC tap and having to tap right next to the location you want... You could probably dremel or sand the bottom protrustion flat, put a slot in it and get it out with a flathead... Too late now haha But yeah, after working in a machine shop for a while.. I've definitely learned that it's better to come in another day than rush shit. Bad things happen.
3vil
Quarter turn, back up. Quarter turn, back up. Quarter turn, back up. Use oil, clear chips, go slow. That's what i was taught YMMV

I kept the holes about 3mm edge to edge so i can still tap the middle one. The 4/0 lugs will cover the second hole, so i may try to use the carbide bit i have on my dremel to get it out. Thanks for the tip, gonna try tmrw.
