It doesn't matter if you don't find the voltage issue first. Google dmm and do what I said. The back battery isn't getting a charge.

What are you using to measure the voltage at the front and rear batteries?

If you only have the cap for a voltage readout, sell it and use the money to buy a voltmeter. Easier to install and you can have it up front with your HU/display. Do what Orionstang said, a DMM is a must have tool for any car audio installer/hobbyist.

Check both batteries with the DMM while the engine is running, if your front battery has a good voltage readout, but the back doesn't, chances are you have a wiring issue. Check to see if your fuses and ground connections are secure. Remember, triple check all your connections.

Cigarette lighter meter is reading the whole car, and so is the cap. The batteries are connected, its like one big battery.

Get rid of the crap plug in meter and cap, thats your first step.

Then take the car to a shop and have them check your voltage in front and back, including where your fuses are.

Ok well I used the dmm and found out a wire came loose at a fuse and was running straight battery. Thanks for the help guys. Its goin like a champ now and both sit at 12.8 while bumping at loudest.

Glad to hear it's running smooth. You should still look for a better voltage meter, though.
