iceman1575
Waiting on title to be mailed to the old owner & everything will be finalized. 2001 Silverado Z71 4x4 5.3 V8. Only mods done are Flowmaster Outlaw exhaust & 2" lift on front to level truck. Truck has 158k but it drives better than our new work trucks. Already has a Sony headunit, just need different mount kit to add a Clarion EQ. More pictures/info to come as things come together. Comments/suggestions appreciated, especially on how to mount DIN slots for the scanners in the center console. Can't link pictures, but I have the same center console as this truck hereaap POTATO! iceman1575
Truck here, & it's been a work in progress, but slowly coming together. Truck after it came home My Sony H/U & Clarion EQ swapped in, with my Pro-197 scanner (Best $299 you can buy for monitoring just about anything) 2 RS magnet mount multi-band antennas & RS CB antenna Rear view (with previous owner tags, was waiting for the title to come from the bank)...I LOVE those LED tails! (Off topic pics) First time in the mud, and of course my friend convinces me to drive straight into a water-flooded clay hole...took about 45 mins of back/forward shoving to get it out, but she came out like only a Chevy would! Aftermath Next day, chillin' out taking some pictures My favorite picture Later that night... Okay, enough offroad pictures. I have more pictures but they won't come 'till my stereo is back in. Right now I have the Sony/Clarion heads, Infinity Kappa door speakers (came with the truck, still hooked to stock tweeters...) Sony rear 4x6's, Cadence Z9 door amp, stock alt/batt. Plans are for my SDC2.5 12's to be reconed, under-seat box to be installed with the speakers inverted mounted with red LED's mounted around it hooked to go with the beat (pending if there's enough room for people's feet...lol). Also planning on mounting both amps on the back wall, just have to get the back seat out first...(Tips appreciated!). I also have a Galls ST160 siren in with dash lights on the way for the FD. iceman1575
Alright, we might be making some progress soon. Been playing with some ideas (as you may have seen in other parts of the forum), but I'm mainly set on doing the following: Front Doors: 6.5's in stock location glassed, 5.25's in the rear of the door Rear Doors: 6.5's in stock location glassed, 5.25's in B-pillar section of rear door (The picture has them reversed, I rethought my ideas...lol) Subs: Sundown SA8's (or possibly Alpine SWR-8's) x 4 under the rear seat @ ~35Hz, amp undecided (based on what coils I get) Misc: - Order new tail lights, same style but fixed - Order 3-4 Sho-Me LED flashers: One for rear brakelight flashers... One for (soon to be) LED front turn flashers... One for (soon to be) LED DRL's, and One for outer door lights (The white will be convered to LED, as will the red, but a flasher will be added for visibility (when the door is open at night) - Convert interior lights to LED (thinking blue for everything dash-wise, white for rear dome & red for front dome, but not decided just yet...) - Grind rear seat grabbers to allow rear seat to fold down - Install VHF P25 digital radio for fire/amateur radio use - Install LED switchpanel on dash above passenger airbag switch - Install LED lighting/strobes For now, it's going to be a mixmatch of speakers. CCX6.5's & Infinity 6.5's in front door, Sony 4x6's in the rear door, & Memphis 6x9's mounted on top of the rear seat (Yeah, it's alot, but it's temporary, plus those good speakers are coming out of my Grand Prix before I sell it...) More pics! Front Side view (yes, truck is messy at the moment...needs a good detailing) Center console Rear view Antennas! (Gotta love the look I get when I pull in to get my truck worked on & people see all three sitting there...lol) More antennas (I lied, there is a fourth, but it was there before I got the truck, and will probably be used eventually...when I figure out what I can use it for. Rear door plans (Remember, the 5.25's will go in the B-pillar, 6.5's in the stock location) Front door plans Will be doing a Sketchup design shortly, had to go get dimensions from the 12" box I ordered (for sale if you're local to Chillicothe! ) POTATO! OrangeJuiced
What did you do with the smoked daytime driving lights? Interested in them. Also interested in seeing what you do with the door panels. 2001 GMC Sierra Build. Body dropped and Juiced
iceman1575
What did you do with the smoked daytime driving lights? Interested in them. Also interested in seeing what you do with the door panels. They were just plastic covers. Thought about doing a light tint, but haven't really seen one I like. Although I will probably do HID's anyways. POTATO!
iceman1575
Been working for the past 2 hours on sketching up from the 12" box I got & modifying it for 4 8's. Should work good. Plans are for two 4" aeroports tuned to 36Hz, should be nice on anywhere between 1600 & 3000 watts (pending on what amp I get ) If you want the Sketchup file to modify, feel free to PM me. POTATO! Hopefully going to get something going this weekend, at least as far as my mid/highs. Truck needs body work (small rust holes, clear coat scratches all over, & paint scratches on the lower bed area...) POTATO!
iceman1575
Pictures! Got my speakers from the Grand Prix yesterday, front stages were CCX 6.5's and the rears were Memphis PR693 6x9's...bought a cheap box from Walfart to stick the 6x9's in, changed the front Kappa's out with the CCX's, have all 4 doors on the front 2 channels, both 6x9's on the rear 2 channels, and...well...you can see how it's rigged up for now Got a delivery when I went in the studio...wonder what this could be... On break, boxes opened, and lo & behold! These are tiny little fuckers, but beefy as hell. Had a hell of a time walking the boxes from the office to my truck Just as heavy as my HDC3s were. Thinking about maybe getting 2 more later on down the road after a seat lift. Right now, plans are for (as stated before) the APSM series to power them for the time being. Hoping for 2 APSM1500's, one per pair, with room to add the extra 2 SA8's and still use the same amps (or maybe buy a third budget amps FTW  ) So as of right now... Front doors: Crescendo CCX6.5's components Rear Doors: Sony 4x6" coax Rear seat: Memphis PR 6x9" coax Oh, and thanks to Srh_Rider, I can now fold my back seat down, giving me easy access Stay tuned, hope to have box made this weekend  POTATO!
