Erwindmac Suz
i tested each SET of rcas to find there max. my rca for mids and highs was 36 volume and sub rcas was 38. so therfore max volume is 36 do for each set of rcas and each amp and this is to set the deck only correct ? Yes so after i set my deck do i just plug the rca's back into the amps and use the + and - wire set to set my gain's on both my amps at the volume my deck go up to with all settings on my deck turn to flat and even on my amps No. DD-1 clip to ground, put the probe on the + on the amp. Did you even open the manual? It tells you how to do ALL of this yeah i did read it i was just confuse about the head unit part where it told me to turn everything to flat
SnowDrifter
You set your head unit first (no eqs or bass boost) either by plugging it into the amp or putting the RCA directly into the DD-1. Then once you have established your maximum volume without clipping (with the track 1 and 2): plug the RCAs into the amps and set them using track 3 and 4. Put the black clip on a ground (negative post on battery or ground location in your car) and touch the red probe to the (+) on your amp and set your gains. Then adjust your crossover points and hook up your speakers Quote ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Robert8252
Wow. Read he manual people. It finds your maximum undistorted head unit volume which is the max you ever turn it up to. Then you set your amplifier gains to match the head units output and put out the most clean power the amp can. The manual is pretty clear on all of this. If you don't understand it you're over thinking it and if it's not in the manual it doesn't do it. 1 Quote 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff
Mack187Murder
It's not all black and white. If your a pro flat makes sense. If your not it's confusing as fuck. Does flat mean full pass or full through on an amplifier? It doesn't specify that in the manual Quote .
Mack187Murder
I just tried to measure my HU .with just RCA's. Had the distortion light beep once. On max volume. tried it through a four channel amp. Had the RCA's plugged into amp..gain on 0. Pass mode set to full as I assumed that was flat? then tried hooking the red probe to minus and black.probe to plus like it said I might have to in manual. Followed instructions. Turned headunit up.to 34 ( max volume is 35) and it blinked once and quit. Never stayed on. Turned the pobes around and did it and got the same thing..distortion blinked on once at 34. Then quit. Blinked.on again at 35 and quit. Quote .
Crazy 8s Drums
You should set HU eq to flat. I know that on most Pioneer HUs, the factory volume max is set very close to where it distorts. Your HU may be like that too. Quote Orion XTR amplifiers Skar subs
Mack187Murder
Did all.that. headunit is flat everywhere. No bass etc. It says Turn the gain on the amp to min. Set crossover switch to flat. What the fuck is flat on a crossover. 0? 400? 1000? On my amp.both channels can go down to 50 or 80 on the cross over settings Quote .

Crazy 8s Drums
Start with frequency all the way up, and with gains all the way down. Quote Orion XTR amplifiers Skar subs
