crunkjuice1
I had this, http://www.oreillyau...N0360&ppt=C0005 It charge rate is what slow 1A I think depending how low your batteries are or if you don't mind doing one at a time its not bad., The XSpower 1215 is $200 but charges up to 15A so its good on multiple batteries and they both don't go over 14.8v
Noobtastic14
Noobtastic, I have a question for you if you don't mind: My charger alternates charging between 15.2v (at 25amps) and 14.5v(at 12 amps) on the large agm battery setting, but once it reads they are charged it tapers off and goes into float mode at 13.5v. It seems like it is charging kind of high, but is this even something to be concerned about (battery life)? Sorry for the mild thread jack Keep in mind I am not a battery specialist and if the XS power rep comes in that would be even better. I would not worry about your voltage while it is in full charge mode that just means that juice is getting where it needs to go. Your problem would be if the battery is topped off and is still sitting that high (or higher) THAT will diminish your long term battery life. As long as your unit compensates and floats at 13.5 when topped I would not be worried about it. Plug it in as often as possible so your batteries will float closer to 13.5 rather than 12.6. -Drew **1A is plenty for a slow charge such as 12hrs+ overnight charge. In this case, bigger and more expensive may not be better unless it is a good unit with an accurate float charge I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. NightmareImpala
damn.... I sort of refuse to use the cheaper Schumacher's after one tried to charge my battery at 15.5V and someone else had one charge at 16.5V. That was me who had that schumacher that charged over 16v lol so...... I ordered a xs intellicharger today :-) TEAM DISTANT THUNDER

skittlesRgood
damn.... I sort of refuse to use the cheaper Schumacher's after one tried to charge my battery at 15.5V and someone else had one charge at 16.5V. ya, i have two from them. first one i saw hit 16v once and i shut it down. usually charges above 15v though. just got a different one and it charges at 15.5v too. i got tired of the crap chargers and cant find my reliable 2amp charger that floats at 13.3v so i broke down and bought the XS charger. its on its way now and will get mounted somewhere in my car. SmallTruk
So will these smaller chargers work if they're just connected to the battery bank? I ask because I was looking on Amazon at that CTEK charger and the max ah rating that it says it's good for charging is easily surpassed when connected to multiple g31 batts. Noobtastic14
I've always seen a charger hooked to the middle of a bank. I've charged four batteries with a 1A charger and never had an issue, it just takes fucking forever to get the voltage up. -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. SmallTruk
So I'm thinking something is always better than nothing. Maybe the Mfgr's just put ah max values so the other specs look more impressive...?
