Metknott
I want some engine ideas. I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 4.3L V6, I was wondering what would be a good replacement/upgradeable engine to install into my vehicle. I've had 2 ideas of install a 383 with a mild cam, or grab a 2004 chevy silverado ss engine and swap it in. Ideas anyone?
Miguels
wow thats too new of a truck to do that. i would only do it if the engine was going. why not go with the LS6 engine from the Corvette? you can get it from GM brand new in crate Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Miguels
or you can go with the LS7 and really make that truck fly Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
beatinpearls
If you are looking for some real power, your gonna have to go with an LS engine. Even just a stock LS out of a corvette, camaro or TA. Not a truck LS. Upgrade the fuel pump and pcm/wiring harness and your damn near there. The 4.3 trans will bolt up but may not have the same parts that will be needed to hold up to the v8 counterpart. Do some research here. http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/ Edited March 25, 2012 by beatinpearls
