It's almost irrelevant in daily.systems when you're not chasing numbers.. you could gain 300w or 500w it depends on many factors.. but its not like your going to gain 1kw.. in most cases. Is that 10% extra worth the ton more strain..? Meh maybe. I look at .5 as combating rise.. if you start at 1ohm in most cases you wont see 1ohm while playing Starting at .5 gives you an actual shot at realistically getting a 1ohm load after rise.. but only if you have the electrical.. So imo you shouldnt really be concerned with how much power you'll gain. It's not going to be huge.. with good enough electrical you stand to get rms more regularly maybe a lil more.
