Sub is doing something odd??| Cone sucks in on low bass notes?

Recommended Posts

anything under 25hz is so worthless, your box is way to damn big for the sub, if you think its your sub then put a friends sub in your box and watch

it do the same thing, my box is tuned to 38hz and i can play to 25hz but i dont play it full tilt, i play 28hz full tilt but not a constant note,

if you had a proper box you wouldn't see this problem. Your prolly trying to play 13-23hz while it's free air too right? Your amp settings prolly suck too of you get over half volume and it starts to stink

1. New box with PROPER specs

2. Stop playing useless frequencies, below 25 is mostly useless

You came here with a problem, we told you (more than once) your issue and you still continue to say what your doing is basically fine.

Yes, I have tried it on two other amps (Audiopipe 1500d, Boss phantom 4000) and my buddies 1.75 cubes box, and other than it would not hit any lows in the smaller box it still sunk in when a 17-19hz note was played. But it never does it playing music, because most all music does not go that low. I have a herts tester on my phone that i use to play sertain notes. I have pounded the crap out of the sub for nearly 2 hours strait just playing normal low bass, metal and country and the sub was not hot or smelly in any way. So if it was going to blow, rip or crack, it would have done it a long time ago I would think..... Is there anybody with a 9500 that has had the same thing happen. Its not an issue or bad thing and does not effect the performance of the subwoofer, I just found it odd the sub would do that? I keep trying to explain what I have going on and further explain the action, and ill post a video or pictures.

enjoy your woofer. no one here is going to help you with anything because you know it all. I dont care who your buddy is or who told you its ok and sounds great. They are wrong.

You do realize that lows are not 13 hz. or whatever you are trying to play. you cant even hear anything under 25 hz or so. You may hear something but ill tell you right now its not musically reproducing anything. Enjoy your mechanical noise from your woofer begging for an owner who knows what the hell he's doing

Ignorance is bliss and you must be happy as fuck.

I don't get it...if your having a problem with your sub doing what it's doing 6 people on here told you why its doing what it's doing...but the when they tell you whats wrong you don't wanna hear it. You just make it seem like its not a problem and your sub is fine. Pretty much what everyone is saying is there's no point in playing less than 20hz

I'm still trying to figure out if OP even knows the frequency response of his woofer.

It's 31hz-150hz. It's that for a reason, meaning it is only built for that specific range. IIRC 13hz does NOT fall in that range.

Your subwoofer does NOT have the mechanical abilities to play as low as you are stupidly playing it, and for what reason?
