htanton93
Ok, i have a MTX 9500 12'' SVC 4ohm on a Soundstream Rub1.2500. The sub is getting around 1000wrms. The sub sounds good and is not blown/ damaged in any way. But on low notes around 13-23hz the sub ''sucks in''? It still moves but it sinks all the way down to were the lip is wrinkled? my voltage is good, and theres not much that can go wrong when wiring a SVC sub... any suggestions?? - 2003 Jetta GLi VR6 - Kenwood HU - MTX 9500 12'' - Soundstream Rub1.2500

SnowDrifter
The sub sucks in more than it moves out? Miles
I had a similar problem on my fi bl 1212 that was seeing about 900 watts. Box was tuned to 3633 and anything under 32the made it do that. So i just didnt play it really low with that box. Always wondered why the sub was doing that the amp was a powerbass asa1500.

mrd6
I am thinking along the same lines as SnowDrifter. If it really is only sucking in and not pushing out then it seems like your amp could have something wrong with it causing a dc offset so that more power is applied in one direction. Test the sub with a different amp and see if the same thing happens. My other thought is that it could be loading off of something, keeping cone control on the subs outward stroke but the box cannot keep the same cone control on the backwards stroke causing it to bottom out only in that one direction. Pics of the set up or vids of this would help alot... My Build Log: http://www.stevemead...-sundown-power/ Team NorthWestSPL
