Todays work was nothing major but was what i considered important, installing a new headunit.

As i love this car to pieces everything has to be super tidy and as perfect as i possibly can do. So today i rewired a harness for the H/U and made it all nice and tidy...not hat anyone is going to see it or anything but what the hell.

Thats all i managed to do before going and catching up with uni mates, but speaker spacers arrived so should get on to those tomorrow

I'm liking the car, it's sexy as hell. That mess reminds me of what I left behind my head unit

Thanks man :D.

My previous cars have all been like that and i've always found it a pain in the ass to work behind the H/U with wires EVERYWHERE...so i just made it nice and tidy, worth the effort if you ask me

Do have some updates on rear speakers, that i will mainly be using for midbass, but the camera has crapped on me so can't get the pictures at the moment.

I can say though that the speakers don't fit very well haha. Ohwell always wanted to try my hand at fiberglassing.

How it looks/will look

Be careful calling this an SQ build. An EQ and Fusion coaxials, sq does not make.

What should i call it then? My aim is not big numbers in this car, just wanting it to sound good......

EDIT: Will rockford fosgate cut the cake and make it an SQ build?

  • 4 weeks later...

UPDATE:

Missed out on over a week of build time as i was very sick, but have gotten on with the build now.

Missed a few pictures when the camera was out of power and we had no batteries but have pictures.

So the box itself.

A large amount of accuracy and design was required for this box as you will see, i couldn't go off measurement any more than 1mm otherwise it would mess things up.

Just a quick picture of the headunit in

Temporary setup to test how the box sounds.

Very messy and i hate having it like that but now it's getting a bit better.

12mm MDF for false floor

Cut and test fit

Bit of plastic was in the way so that has been removed so the floor sits nicely.

Building around the spare wheel so i can still use it if the need ever arises.

All of the wood will be carpeted in the end, but for now it stays like this. Once carpeted any imperfections in my cut lines will not be able to seen.

Next up is putting all of this wire in and keeping it hidden

Thats all for now :)
