I love when people give suggestions but don't really know. You want your kids and tweets close together unless you are trying to raise your sound stage.

honest question

when wouldnt you want to raise your sound stage?

guys, sound stage is just fine. I don't want any tweets in the A pillar, sorry. I don't know why people think that is the key to SQ, but its not. The closer they are to each other, the better they will sound. Doing that prevents "smearing". Where i have them is a great spot IMO as well as the person helping me. I had another long conversation with Terry Soohoo, (my SQ sensai), who is probably top 5 best SQ tuners on the planet.....and so far, everything is where i want it to be. If he had it his way, i would only be running one set of mids/tweets up front and that is it. I have to have my output so i insisted on 2 sets but he says we should be able to work with it. Thats the reason the mids are right next to each other and so are the tweets. I am getting my output and reducing the chances of smearing the sound. Now i know i have an SMD woofer so perfect SQ might be tough since it likes POWER before it sounds its best, but with the kicks being crossed over as WOOFERS and not midbass, it should work pretty well.

thanks again guys for the comments!

FYI: today, i spent all day running brand new RF speaker wire to every single speaker i the car....no more stock wiring being used at all. That was temporary. After adding in the 8's, moving the tweeter channel from (half) the 1000.4 back over to the T400.2, and adding a 5th amp dedicated to the rear T5's, the system didn't sound very good. It needed tuning BAD since i moved all my channels around and nothing was the same anymore. I spent ALL day working so i said screw it i will do it tomorrow. I got home, took a shower, ate.......took a short nap, and then went back to the shop and tuned for 4 hours. It STILL is not where i want it but its almost back to sounding GREAT again! I am home now and about to get some rest, back for round 2 tomorrow! My shop is such a MESS!! who wants to clean it for me? :D

looks great Meade!! always a fan of what you do with these cars. you turn them all from ordinary to extraordinary with class and style. they don't end up looking like a ricer, just clean and classy. i wish i could hear this thing, i bet its gonna sound great. so many great ideas i have gotten from this build alone! cant wait to see this finished

Theres tons of ways to make a vehicle stage and image ... That takes installer experience, testing, and tuning ... just about every vehicle is different ...

Wish it was just that easy ...

Thanks. Just wondering how long it would take me on my build. You three days means a week for me on one lol. You were closer to home I'd make my son clean the shop for kicks. He hates cleaning up all my wire clippings and scrape lol.
