Hi Steve!!!

congrats for this amazing build you are doing... only 2 question:

1) why the tweeters hidden in the doors, and not in the pillar? you'd have a sound stage 100times superior with a sound quality unbelievable...

2) the mids (per door) work one in closed box and one in door or i mistake? if yes...why this solution?

sorry for the questions...but i follow you for a great time :drink40:

sorry, forgot to answer the 2nd part. The door panel "pod" is open to both of the 6.5's. I know it looks like one is sealed and one is in the door but thats not the case. You will see in the upcoming pics later today. Thanks man!

I love when people give suggestions but don't really know. You want your kids and tweets close together unless you are trying to raise your sound stage.

it was only a curiosity!!!! curiosity for learn something... be quiet

the reason N8 said that to you was because you said "it will be 100 times superior with sound quality unbelievable".......which isnt just curiosity, its just a bold statement which isn't necessarily true. Could it be? SURE! depends on the car and the install itself. Nobody here, not even me knows if my sound stage needs to be raised or not. So far, what i am hearing, i don't think it does. I even shit-canned the center channel idea. I had an amp and a new RF speaker ready to go and my sensai says ABSOLUTELY NOT.....so i said "OK" (he had his reasons) ;)

Im glad you decided against it. Ive never been a fan of the sound from an added center channel when listening to stereo source material....it never sounded natural to me in IMO.

By the time you get done tuning, you systems imaging will give that center stage naturally. Keep up the good work sir

i am by no means an expert but, i have my premier prs720's mounted down low in my doors in the gto. i mounted the tweets just above the mids with around 80 watts to them and when driving the stage is right at my head. its perfect,IMO. the pioneers are bright to begin with so i knew i didnt want them up high. with where your mounting your mids and tweets, when your driving, i think its going to be right on the money, especially with the amount of power your running. if your were to watch movies in surround, i could see the center channel, but it would have to have a ton of power to get past those mids and tweets. i wish i could hear it in person, i can only imagine the sound. sammy Hagar, three lock box at full tilt would be mind blowing!

when wouldnt you want to raise your sound stage?

when it doesn't NEED to be raised

ive never liked tweeters in the doors. but then again sq is subjective

Sounding good is subjective

True sound quality/fidelity is not, when trying to accurately reproduce music as close to realistic as possible.

On other notes:

The Lexus turned out to be a beautiful top notch install, and I bet it sounds amazing in person. Of course you always do great work Steve, wish I could hear it in person.
