Thanks!! im not 100% sure but it looks like he gets cardboard and cuts it out until it shapes whatever the wood is going to be around than puts cut out cardboard on mdf and traces it out, this giving him the shape he needs for the panel to fit nice and perfect Quote Pioneer deh-80prs2 10" Tantric Sounds HD's Ported Box Tuned to 33hzSoundqubed 3500.1Hertz HSK 165Tantric Sounds 6.5" Coaxials80sq ft of MurdermatXs Power D3400 & D3100 Sky High Car Audio Cable Throughout

Tape them to the board until you are all the way around the area with the crazy shape. Then remove the template with the cardboard on it. It will be a little bit jagged but once you trace it out on a clean piece you should be able to clean it up and make a smooth cut. There's other ways to do it but this way works best for me. I have tools that a meant to find shapes that don't work nearly as well as this.....for ME anyway Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
ok guys, i have a confession to make. I was so excited about my trunk looking as good as it did, i failed to shut the trunk ALL the way before i took video, pics, and then took it all out and left for the day. The next day i put the side panels back in and then tried to shut the trunk. It only stopped short 8" LOL - WOOPS. The hinges do NOT hit, they pass through very smoothly.....but where the hinges attach to the trunk lid, it is really thick. I didn't pay attention. Anyway, the following pics are me averting disaster and re-doing them AGAIN. Hey, its days like this that can only make you better and sharpen your game! So it looks a little different but to me it looks just as good. I started out by shedding a tear and throwing my hat across the shop. Then i notched out the side panel, dropped it down about 2.5" and completely re worked it from the ground up. Heres how it was looking..... this is what i had to do.
