Lexus IS-F Sound System install - Custom SMD VM-1/OM-1/TM-1f Dash Piece (update page 71)

Are these volume controls straight through at max so you use the DD-1 with them all the way up and then fine tune by turning the different stages down? Really good idea. Doesn't muck with distortion but give you full control of the mix. I have to do that to mine. I'm screwing with the android's volume too much while driving.

Noob question. How dose the master knob control volume and everything else? If it was posted I'll go back a reread it. I probably will never have that many but how do all of them work together like that. I also don't understand how the bass q is controlled that way. Is it because of how the 3 sixty 3 works? Very clean work.

the master volume is just that. When it is used with the stock system, it actually has two master volumes since the original still works. But when i go bluetooth directly into the 3sixty, the master volume is the only volume button used. Same for optical and aux (not used at this time). The bluetooth in, off of my ipad, on some "spotify premium" @ 320k, sounds AWESOME. :D Of course the other ones are to control bass. I fiddle with them while i drive and don't even lift my arm up. Its like ninja-volume :ninja: I love them in that spot and nothing like drilling more holes in a brand new(ish) ISF

where was the noise coming from and how did you fix it??

Nice clean way to integrate those knobs! Very stealth!

I am truly jealous of your trunk depth. Wish I had that kind of room.

Soo much room to play with and you knocked it out of the park.

:good:

the trunk isn't that big, i just made good use of what i had :D

thanks!

What was the problem you found causing the floor noise?

my system has 7.1 surround stock. The deck goes up to 62 (or 63, i forget). My DD-1 showed my subwoofer distorting @ 40, midbass (doors) not distorting at all, mids/highs distorting @ 55, rear mids/highs @ 57. I didn't bother to measure the center channel since i don't use it anymore.I think the Mark Levinson equalization and time alignment (stock) might have been screwing with the 3sixty.3 a little bit during the summing/nomalization. I think it was over compensating its gains due to one level being so far from the next, causing the floor noise. Sometimes less, is more. I got rid of all the inputs EXCEPT the front fullrange left and right. So from 7 inputs, 7 outputs to 2 inputs, 7 outputs. (there is 8 but remember, i didn't use the center channel) I didn't even use the stock subwoofer input, i pulled bass off of the full range.

for some reason, it worked much better that way.

Ok stupid question. Do you use a eq? My friend swears by it and i shit you not he has his cd player up to close to 50 (max is 60) and uses the eq for his volume? He thinks he is loud as hell and puts me down with my little non eq system. I am running a 2010 kemwood deck. ( the best you can get before a dvd/navigation deck) a 1800 watt mono block amp and a ssa xcon 12inch d2 sub. 3 xs power batteries and a dc alt. My box was built from the ssa company and tuned at 32hrtz. Is a eq worth running?
