Help on building a box for 2 15" L7's

Recommended Posts

I'm no good at designing boxes with Sketchup so it would be great if someone could help me out with this.

I don't like my pre-fab box very much, it's horrible at hitting lows. My max dimensions are:

H:20"

W:37"

L:28"

My port:

H:18.5"

W:5"

L:18"

That should put me at 10 Cubes and 32 Hz

I have 2 15" L7's going into this, and it's going in a Chevy Blazer

Here is a suggestion:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 36 Hz

Vb = 7.8 ft^3

External Height = 20 in

External Width = 37 in

External Depth = 28 in

Port Width = 18 in

Port Height = 6 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.

* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 37 x 28

Left & Right Sides = 26 1/2 x 17 3/4

Front & Back = 37 x 17 3/4

L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

Front to Back = 16 1/4 x 19 1/2

Port Left Side Assembly:

16 1/4 x 6

Port Right Side Assembly:

16 1/4 x 6

Don't recommend 32Hz tuning for these subs.

That's Awesome! I'm about to pick up a circular saw and jigsaw, and I already have 2 sheets of MDF, screws, drills, glue, and loctite to seal it up along with fiberglass resin! I'm excited to get this done and in my car Going to try and get it done this weekend.

One question though, how do i build the internal parts of the port? Can you sketch it out for me?

He gave you the port dimensions. There are three pieces of wood, the top of the port that reaches toward the back of the box, and the two sides and are the same length and they make a rectangular box when glued and screwed together. 16.25"x19.5" for top, 16.25"x6 for sides.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

32 hz tuning would be fine for these subs. I see you still havent learned much, joe.

Just say no to Ground Pounder Customs.

More box builds

some cars do over 170db with one sub, so clearly my two 12"s can do that in my car, with my knowledge too! look out bitches!

I'm with captain stupid.
