Subwoofer bottoming out

Recommended Posts

What does it sound like?

I just wanted know...my dcs are doing something weird...it sounds like an echo chamber in my box....if you can picture what I'm hearing...no malfunction in the sub, nor the box.

Dunno if that's normal. Sounds kinda cool actually. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't doing anything it's not suppose to.

Okay, this sounds like an echo chamber. Bass hits and then like a second later it echos through my trunk. I think I just need to seal off the surrounding space and it'll stop. (yes I know the box is like a huge echo chamber, just to put an end to any sarcasm.)

Sounds in relation to the vent mach thread I posted, how many square inches of port do you have, and what subs are you running. if your vent mach is to low, the sound waves can still be leaving the box while the sub has already started playing another sound

15.64 feet seems pretty wide :lol2:

All seriousness aside though, try taking a video and seeing if you can still hear/recognize your problem on video. Somebody else might be able to too. And you're saying that the bass itself is still there, just this other noise too?

if it is in the truck maybe the trunk flex mixed with port orientation is causing the waves to do something unusual. trunk fanning back and forth on the port maybe.

but bottoming out is a LOUD knocking sound.
