Anyone notice how cheap unlabeled sealed lead acid batts are?

That's great but doesn't change the fact that I run off-brand batts, have no problems with them, and I didn't have to sell a kidney for them. I wasn't comparing them to the XS portable lightning generators you call batteries, merely comparing the price point. They are a great value.

So the main difference is that xs is still better, ergo, we pay more. But the other batteries will work for their intended purpose for much less, its hard not to jump on deals like that.

There are also off-brand gel-cells, they perform extremely well I use them in my Club Car.

This isn't the only site on the net for batteries either, they just have good shipping rates so I use them. I only know about all this because of my remote control boat racing hobby, I build my own battery packs for my brushless electrics.

As long as you understand that when you are buying cheap batteries like that and you know you won't get the performance of an xs or other high end batteries I guess you are correct

But at that point you are more or less just replacing your stock lead-acid battery with another lead-acid battery and not really upgrading to the best product for your situation

Nathan once put it- having 3 walmart lead-acid batteries with 40ah each will get you more ah than one d3400 but that only matters if you are going to be pulling say 1500 watts of power for 120 hours straight with no charging i.e. car shut off, and in that case yes the 3 walmart batteries would be better in that case if you enjoy listening to music for LONG periods of time with the car off, but the d3400 can discharge 3300 amps right when power is needed which the 3 walmart batteries simply can not do

a metaphor for this would be if a house was on fire and you needed 10000 gallons of water to put it out and the 3 walmart batteries have that much capacity but they aren't made for the quick discharge needed in car audio so they can only use a fire hose the size of a drinking straw, while a battery bank of 2 d3400 with the same ah of 130 are disigned for quick discharge and can use a fire hose to put out the fire

These are better than walmart batteries. I guarantee everything battery-powered you own has something made by Universal Battery, PowerSonic, or Panasonic in it. This is about value for the money, if you have a system so serious that you need XS batts or something else more extreme then you can probably afford them.

Haha, yah. There is nothing to compare to XS at this price point. I'm talking straight value, where these deliver. One year warranty and great prices, who can argue?
