Need ideas on a new Groundpounder type box

Recommended Posts

i have 2 sundown sa12s in a L-ported box that i made and its tuned to 29hz and about 4.4cubes before sub displacement. it has 45 in all corners. It moves a decent amount of air.. but i think it could move alot more. ive seen people with trunk cars move more air with the same subs. im looking for ideas on a new box, even though i just build this one i still want a better one, and im thinking of using an aero port(s) instead of an L-port design since ive been researching some and that seems to be the way to go. My current setup is Subs up port up but i was thinking of doing Subs up port(s) forward and im also looking to keep the same tuning of 29 hz seeing as it seems to do good in my truck. btw i have an extended cab truck. Would that be the best setup for moving air? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. haha

im also looking to keep as much of the aero port inside the box as possible. i dont really want a big port coming out of the side of the box a mile long

what are the box dimensions

sub up, port fwd, would be separate chambers, centre port, depending on death of box this may not be possible,

you want to be 4net not 4.4gross, 4.4gross will be somewhere around 2.6net so 1.3net each, just shy of min. recommended

and i take it you have dual 2ohm running at 2 ohm final load on the hifonics brz2400 giving around 1700rms

as for box dimensions i would have to go measure. and dual 4 wired down to 1ohm. and i was looking to go maybe a little smaller than the box i currently have becuase im overpowering them. but would shared chamber with maybe 2 4" aero ports move the most air i could witht this setup? and about 4th orders, i have no clue, its been forever since ive known anything about them so ive forgeotten haha

nvm. link isnt working

new box specs, just playing with the numbers

Height:15

depth: 18

length: 36

number of aeros: 2

diameter: 4"

Length of ports: 15"

gives 25.12sq in. of port area

IS this a decent plan?

Take a look at my build bro. 27hz tuneage on skars vvx, soon to be sa-12's. Retarded flex and air exactly like u want, subs up aeros back

Build looks really good. i might be going with that set up. and why were the port tubes fiberglassed?

port is a bit small and box is ok for less power,

so smaller box so the subs will handle the full power?
