I have a Chrysler 200 S and I'm looking to black out the plastic trim going across the back on the trunk, the trim strips underneath the driver and passenger windows, and the plastic trim around the grill. I've seen it done before, but not sure really how to prevent it from peeling. I was thinking about just scuffing the plastic and using a small airbrush to paint them and clear coat. I'm just not sure if this will hold, any help would be appreciated!

I think Krylon makes spraypaint specifically for plastic. Just make sure to use primer (if applicable) and put on many thin layers to prevent runs and (eventual) chipping.

I'm gonna hate

To paint plastics I sand with 320grit, spray a bit of adhesion promoter, followed by the basecoat & topped off with the clearcoat.

Edit: paint itself is plastic anyway, idk why people make it a big deal when painting plastics, just perform the proper procedures & you're good.

thanks alot audioaddict..

No problem man, if you feel 320 is too rough, you could step it up to 400 or 600 grit, anything finer will allow the paint to peel right off as if it were just skin, trust me, I've been there, done that when it comes to paint. Good luck man! :drink40:
