I am currently running two JL 12W3's and am looking to upgrade to a single, better sub. I'm having a hard time deciding between the two in the title. Please help. I listen to a lot of metal and rap. So i need quality and great response time for double bass and whopping bass for 808's and rap.

If you are looking to get louder you probably wouldn't see a huge gain going from the two subs you have now to say an AA havoc 12, I would upgrade to two AA havoc 12's tuned nice and low for a flatter response (26hz)....As far as the response time that you speak of, you would probably best obtain that by getting an A/B class amplifier that has a good damping factor.
