Joby Winfrey
I've decided on buying a Fi Q 15, I just need help on finding an amp that would be best suited for it. I have a Treo amp that pushes 1000 watts that i'll use to break it in.
Joby Winfrey
Also, should I use the Spider option if I'm running it in a ported box?
Kranny
"break in" lol find an amp that outputs the amount of power that the sub is rated for at the appropriate impedance. Fi has a tech page that explains all their options and what they do.

Joby Winfrey
Don't chastise me. I came on here asking for help because I don't know much. I'm not trying to sound like I know what I'm talking about. https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/sess/utn154fc3ccd2df035/shopdata/0070_Tech/0070_Speakers/0030_Tech.Q/product_overview.shopscript The spider add on listed on this page. ^^
Kranny
take two seconds and let your brain comprehend what the tech portion says. i hate it when people read something once, then ask questions about what it means when it takes all of 10 seconds to complete a thought process to let you come up with an idea. it essentially means if you're throwing more power than rated (power handling), put another spider on so you dont bottom it out (keeping moving assembly under control). HatersGonnaHate
The spider option is really only if you plan on beating the shit out of the woofer by overpowering it all the time. Joby Winfrey
Thank you. That helps a lot. Like I said, this is nowhere near my area of expertise. Now do y'all have any amp suggestions for under $300?
