Id update your video, bios, etc. and any firmware associated with the other hardware on it too. sometimes the manufacturers put updates in there that help enhance them and speed them up. Also sometimes within the BIOS you can adjust the hard drive performance by either being quiet or on performance and adjust the AGP video size, i usually put that up as high as it can go as long as im not using a big amount of my systems ram. Other than that its pretty much the end for what you can do other than buying faster components which honestly id save your money and get a new system before pouring it into an old computer that age. One wrong move and your computer is toast after a reboot. Dont play around in there unless you have your stuff backed up well and know what youre doing and are expecting of doing something wrong and killing it and know how to reverse it. Regedit is not for the daily user to play with. Its pretty easy to understand and all I would do in there is to delete some boot items in hklm and hkcu. Undo isn't much of an option unless you back up everything and know how to put it all back into place. I'd never recommend someone dig into regedit unless they're 100% comfortable formatting and reinstalling if the wrong entry gets deleted or edited unintentionally. Quote wtf is lolcats?
