AgentTyler
If I build an enclosure and use plexiglass on the back, is it going to affect the sound? Also with the proper bracing could you mount the subs on the plexiglass? SmallTruk
Yes, as long as its at least as thick as the box material. With enough bracing and a thick enough piece you should be ok. But for that I'd use lexan

AgentTyler
Well I think I'm going to plexi the top of the box so you can see down and look at the motor. maybe add some led lights as well. But wasent to sure what would work for the glue and stay perfectly clear. Anyone? What I've done in the past was lay a bead of clear silicone along the edge and put C clamps all the way around. I've also 'torched all sides of the layers together and it worked pretty nicely as well. Just make sure that there is no air pockets between the layers, otherwise it's junked. CortezDTV
Thickness vs thickness plexiglass is stronger think about fishtanks, 250gallons of water 200lbs 8feet 2feet by 2 feet, think wood that was 3/4 (or a little less) it wouldnt be able to hold the water even it it was resin'ed to waterproof it... I thing it might effect sound couldn't tell ya, my 1" thick plexi side on my box is one of tne stronger points on my box, needed no bracing and its the biggest peice 24x 40.5 where the wood top and bottom needed bracing and they are 18" x 40.5 now braced with a 2x4 Quote SCSB Santa Cruz Speaker Box Build logs: Daily Driver Lemon Marquis 2 american bass 750.1s 350.4 on 14 focal 6.5s sq 945 on 4 hertz tweeters Mystery subs http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 The Mustang 'dubbed' Shirley the project from bullet holes to badass http://www.stevemead...cond-skin-time/
AgentTyler
Where did you purchase your sheet of plexiglass?
