MD7786
And u make a good point sir. They told e it was burnt from bad signal. Bit I knew it Washington clipping but didn't know how bad.
Kranny
do you have bass boost on? or bass eq? or something like that, activated? turn them off if you do.
aN-i-No
Washington...lol Anyway if it was torn that means you pushed it too hard mechanically (it moved too much) and the leads were stretched and torn. If they burnt up that means the leads had more power across them than they could handle which could possibly be from clipping. You say you know it was clipping... The fix is...get the sub reconed and turn the gain down. Period. No more problems after that. Yes it will be quieter.
MD7786
Lmafo. Yep Washington. That's a slang word I like to use. LOL. And u said quiter. That's kind of disappointing. So bottom line is sub can't handle amp and too much clipping. And here I was wanting to go louder.
MD7786
OK so after hearing the quieter remark now I wanna just get these P.S.I. 12s. They are 2500 rms and not sure about amp wise. One big or one for each. Brand and model?
Kranny
you have a 1200rms sub on a 1000w amp. its not an overpowering issue.
MD7786
Also just what they told me hen they rebuilt it. Any way to check actual rms or is that a guess?
