Kranny
bigger diameter woofers dont correlate to being able to play lower notes. yea the notes are louder, but thats simply because theres more cone area. and also, how much power are you looking for. what impedance are you looking to wire to. what amp are you gonna use. etc etc
BallzFast
if going bigger i say go all the way(18") cone area is king. i loved mine when i had it. box was tuned to 30hz. played anything i wanted. i just reconed a dd9500 motor i had to a 18" just in case i feel like going back. also they just look impressive. newb4976
I understand that, um for power i have no clue, only limits are no alternator, extra battery, and around 400 for an amp sometime down the road
newb4976
i know for almost a fact, im not going to be able to afford a decent 18" for quite some time, unless i get some crazy hook up
BallzFast
i know for almost a fact, im not going to be able to afford a decent 18" for quite some time, unless i get some crazy hook up or you build it yourself. a used motor is around $100(depending on series and brand) and the recone is around $160+ shipping (DD)(add about $25 for glue kit)not sure how much a basket is but i would guess not much.so for maybe $300 or so you can have a beast sub that is fresh.
