Recommended Posts

I have a older alpine 9811 and I tuned my system with the dd1 and it sounds great but I was thinking I used the cd to tune everything but when I listen to music I never use the cd player its all on my ipod so should I put the tracks on my ipod and set it that way or am I fine where I'm at

I do the same thing you do. I put them on my iPod and set gains with that. Turn the eq off and make sure your iPod doesn't clip too

Treat your ipod as just another source. I'm not sure if it has a strong enough signal to drive the internals of the dd-1.

Plug it into your deck, turn up the volume half way, turn up your iPod all the way, and test with tracks 1&2. If it clips, turn down the volume until it doesn't clip and there should be some sort of volume lock in the settings so you can't turn it up past that point.

Then set everything else like normal

the ipod via 3.5mm is weak

but if you use the ipod dock port with a cable to the head unit, it seems just as good as USB/CD/DVD
