bass_stalker Posted June 24, 2012 Report Share Posted June 24, 2012 are 3 way speakers a gimmick or not, i'd assume its just a gimmick because there only a small additional tweeter and still a small crossover. i know a 3 way component set will sound good when done correctly, but thats because it has a seperate woofer, midrange, and tweeter with large crossover, or being ran actively i'm mostly asking because my cousin keeps trying to get me to buy them and i want to beable to explain why i'm going with a normal 2 way speaker instead of a 3 way. Robert8252 Posted June 24, 2012 Report Share Posted June 24, 2012 If I have the space and processing to run it active I'd choose a 3way any day of the week over 2way. When installed properly having a good midrange that can play down to around 300hz or so, being able to bring that much if your sound stage up on the dash is awesome to hear.
