Cazz Posted June 26, 2012 Author Report Posted June 26, 2012 The picture above shows 2 8's but the back needs to be slanted so I failed and I don't know how to make one like that. If someone could take some time and could make a ported box design and gave me the dimensions my dad could build it no problem its just I don't know how to do it. Quote
Guest Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 you cant have a slanted baffle and have the port at an angle. you have to put the port on the top of the box or something. ports cant be like \ they have to be straight. Quote
Cazz Posted June 26, 2012 Author Report Posted June 26, 2012 That helps, so shall I make a box of: Width: 32" Height: 14" Bottom Depth: 36" Top Depth: 28" That is the size of my dads boot except the height is 18", so if I were to make that my port could be at the front and the subs on the top like Steve has his? Cazz Posted June 26, 2012 Author Report Posted June 26, 2012 I see but I cant design that because I don't know how, if you was to give me dimensions I could get the box made and also I want the subs on top and the slope is at the back. I don't know what tuning I would need all I know is I want a box: Width: 32" Height: 14" Bottom Depth: 36" Top Depth: 28" With some SA-8 v2's on top the port I want at the front so if I were to open the boot the port will be there so maybe have the port 1 or 2 inches from the top and how ever big it needs to be like I said I have no clue. Lets put 4 SA-8 v2's on top see how that works, would you spend some time and make a design with the dimensions? Quote
Guest Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 the port cant really have any angles besides if it bends cause its too long. and that bend has to be 90 degrees. Quote
Jessica Posted June 26, 2012 Report Posted June 26, 2012 If you want to save space and not have to remove the box to get to the tire i bet two of those 8's would do fine. Those things are monsters, 500w rms but probably could take more if you don't clip. At least then you could go with aero ports to the side and still be loud, unless you plan on sealing it off, but then you can still put bends in the aero ports if you need the extra length. Just my 2 cents. Quote Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work. Cazz Posted June 26, 2012 Author Report Posted June 26, 2012 Ok right now I am so confused on what to do, I don't want to give up because I want the best I can possibly have. Width: 32" Height: 14" Bottom Depth: 36" Top Depth: 28" So there is the dimensions to the boot I want 4 SA-8 v2's on top and where ever the port can go, also I want Deep but Punchy Bass if you understand what I mean, I don't just want to hear it I want to feel it. Like I have said many of times I know nothing about this stuff to I need as much help as I can get. Quote
Cazz Posted June 26, 2012 Author Report Posted June 26, 2012 Strangeduck if I were to put 2 SA-8 v2's in would it be better then one Rockford Fosgate Punch P3S Shallow? Quote
Jessica Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) Well, you want to save space, that is why i sauis that, but 2 8's would be more surface area than one 12, plus triple the power handling. That should get you louder i would think. edit. Plus you i thought you said two 12's? which would be a larger box Edited June 27, 2012 by strangeduck Quote Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside.
