Cazz
Is this a good enough amp to power it without any problems? Hifonics Brutus BRZ2100.1D
cjN
we say a 3k, because after voltage drop and impedance rise, you'll see about 2k, also...sundown subs are underrated, and will take around 700-800. judging by all these posts i've read, seems like you shouldn't be hooking anything up by yourself what so ever, and you should not cheap out on an amp. if you're going to spend that much money on brand new 8's, you might as well get the decent electrical, and amp to power them. if not, go to nearest walmart. and i heard that sony xplod subs are pretty cheap, along with their sony xplod amp. good luck, edit...the brz series of amps isnt that bad, actually. i've heard alot of people complain about blowing them up, you could always look into a crescendo bc2k Edited June 28, 2012 by cjN Quote 2x sundown audio sa 12's Crescendo BC2000 kinetik 1800, 1400. Cazz
Well I wanted a cheaper amp because I don't want to spend a lot of money if I don't need to, also I live in the UK and we don't have a Walmart. So im basically going to pay about £1200 just on the subs and a amp? And if a amp says it gives 700 Watts at 4 ohms what does that mean? cjN
it means it gives 700 watts when wired to 4 ohms....and yes, you're probably going to pay alot for subs and an amp, this hobby isn't cheap, lol, you could always run 2 12's and a 2k amp. john253a
dont worry your not the only one dropping big cash to get them i was just under 700au for 2, on that price youll be £700 just on subs alone, if you want a cheaper amp and less up grading on the elec, just get a 1-1500k amp and when you have more cash upgrade elec and get a bigger amp, what ohm subs did you get? as this will affect what amp you get also, but idd drop at-least 2600-3200rms on them.
