Max1636 Posted June 28, 2012 Report Share Posted June 28, 2012 Looking for an amp to power my RE Audio XXX 12", and have chosen Soundstream over Hifonics. But I'm stuck between the 2000 and 2600 watt versions. I have the dual 2 Ohm version which I will wire in parallel to make 1 Ohm. The Soundstream TX1.2000D is rated 2000 RMS x1 @ 1 Ohm, which is what the sub is rated for But it would be nice to have a bit more power, The Soundstream TX1.2600D will do 2600 RMS x1 @ 0.5 Ohm, and only 2000 at 1Ohm, So.. Will I have much of a gain by buying the more expensive amp, even though at the subs impedance on paper they will output the same. I got my Soundstream 2000d 3 days ago for $240 and couldn't find a Crescendo under 300. And man..
