two box designs which one would you choose?

trying to figure out what box to build for my two alpine 10" swx1043d's. Joe x was awesome enough to give me plans for the first box which im leaning towards and was going to build before i talked to my buddy lol. he said that i would gain 3 db for putting the subs back in the same chamber and port back. if i would have just kept my mouth shut and just built the box joe x gave me i wouldnt be in this problem lol. well let me know what you guys think thanks homies

Here is a suggestion 1.5 cubes per chamber:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 35 Hz

Vb = 3 ft^3

External Height = 17 in

External Width = 33 in

External Depth = 18 in

Port Width = 3 1/4 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.

* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 33 x 18

Left & Right Sides = 16 1/2 x 14 3/4

2x Front = 14 7/8 x 14 3/4

Back = 33 x 14 3/4

Shared Port Internal Assembly Parts:

2 x Front to Back = 14 7/8 x 14 3/4

2 x Extension = 8 15/16 x 14 3/4

Cutting Instructions using a 49" x 97" sheet of MDF:

Cut one panel to 18" wide and 49" long

- Using the same panel, cut one piece 42.125" long and label this panel A

Cut one panel to 18" wide and 49" long

- Using the same panel, cut one piece 42.125" long and label this panel A

Cut one panel to 11" wide and 49" long

- Using the same panel, cut one piece 42.125" long and label this panel B

- Using the same panel, cut one piece 5.9375" long and label this panel G

- Using the same panel, cut one piece 0.5" long and label this panel H

Cut one panel to 11" wide and 49" long

- Using the same panel, cut one piece 37" long and label this panel C

- Using the same panel, cut one piece 11.875" long and label this panel F

Cut one panel to 11" wide and 49" long

- Using the same panel, cut one piece 37" long and label this panel C

- Using the same panel, cut one piece 0.5" long and label this panel H

Cut one panel to 11" wide and 49" long

so should subs be up port back separate chambers or should i do the second box in the same chamber subs back port back

think about it, if the port length wasnt as long both subs would still be in the same common chamber...

box 1 offers even compression for each sub

box 2 might be louder on a meter when u want to get all the pressure on one tiny corner of the car, but that doesnt mean it will sound as good to the listener nor be as reliable

one thing ive learned in audio.... 9 times out of 10 when a "buddy" tells you something about audio its stupid bullshit he is saying just to fit in and act like he knows something......
