I am looking at making my own buss bars, however due to the orientation of my batteries I have to use bends. I am looking at .125 thickness/.5 width copper flat bar, I could also use the same in brass as they are relatively close in price. My question is which metal will be better and easier to bend, these will be simple 90 degree bends and I thought of using a butane torch to heat up the bars for the bending if needed depending on the bars flexibility at this thickness.

Hopefully someone will chime in here.

Thanks

Hey man, don't post here often but i know some things about conductors that'll help you. I'm not sure what your running but you would probably want bigger bus bars. Those dimensions would give you a size that is equal to a wire that is slightly smaller than a 2 AWG wire. I would double the area of your bar, as this would make it have similar conductivity to something like 2/0 wire.

If you have any questions about this stuff, just ask i'll be glad to help :)

I ended up going with solid copper. I found a company called Strom Copper that makes them up already for grounding and they are CHEAP for complete sets!!!!
