im45pl Posted July 15, 2012 Report Share Posted July 15, 2012 hi, this is my current project, its a 1994 toyota toragogear so far : 4 dc 5k: 4 x 18"LVL6: 300 amp alt (exessive amperage): gladen sql dual midbass 8 sets (16 mids and 8 tweets): 2 mosconi 4 channels: 6to8 processor: heaps of shok cable: 4 bulk pack dynamatgear to get : blaupunkt new york h/u: 12 fullriver hc110ok so final box design is still up in the air so what i am doing for the moment is making a nice solid foundation to work from, only just started but will update when there is more to show... onto to some pics of the gear and carfront stagecablesubsampssome of the build so farive got more pics of the same so i wont bore you with them lol.a question for anybody running this gear over there, will the amps handle .5ohm (as long as power supply is ok) and are the subs happy with 4.5-5cubes?cheers and any comments are welcome! CJ18 Posted July 16, 2012 Report Share Posted July 16, 2012 I would not recommend running below 1 ohm per amp on the Xls. You have a shit ton more power than you need for the XL platform. If you want to use the 5ks to their full potential, then i would recommend stepping up and getting the Level 5s. 3500w of clamped clean power is about the most you are going to be able to put to the XLs in a daily application, anymore than that will just start to get burnt off as heat and could pottentially cause you problems.
