cnet files infected?

Recommended Posts

So twice now i have gotten infected files from cnet. the most recent virus was "windows installer32[pup]" or something like that. My anti-virus nabbed it as soon as it finished downloading and did the same with the previous file(I never even got a chance to open it,)

The program i was downloading was "WAV to MP3 encoder". I checked the reviews after and 107 people said it was useless and crashed. Guess they need better anti-virus. Funny thing is it's the second result in the google search results!

I figured out itunes can convert for me so i got it covered, I just hate itunes, but thats not the point. The point is, I figured a company like cnet would do a better job. If my free anti-virus can catch stuff that theirs cannot that bothers me.

Props to AVAST.
