I got the SKURVY today! KASPERSKY FTMFW - (portable hard drive "shortcut" virus)

Recommended Posts

Shortcut virus is the worst. If your USB drive has it, best thing to do to remove it is to just format it. I used to know a trick that you could do through command prompt to remove the virus' but I forgot it since I have not used that method in a few years

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

I HATE KASPERSKY WITH A PASSION.

You can never un-install it. Ever. It wont let you, it infects and takes over everything.

Sounds like the virus on the flash drive was hidden on another partition, you could have done a low level format with diskpart and saved it.

Chinese flash drives are banned on government bases because about 75% of them contain rootkits hidden on the drive.

Easiest way to not get infected again is to disable autoplay.
