Chris Hammer
Id use #6 black screws and paint a black rectangle border on the plexi to hide the seam. What about when you put stuff in the trunk?? WOnt the paint scratch/chip/peel? Tebo
Silicone that bitch in there and build a trim ring to go around it and then use rare earth magnets to secure it down. WOnt the paint scratch/chip/peel? if the hardwood laminate doesn't scratch/chip/peel, theres no reason why it would.....He also could paint the bottom side of the plexi so it just hides the hardwood floor edge. A screw every 4-5 inches or so would probably look nice matching the vents on the sides and the long hinge. focused313
[ if the hardwood laminate doesn't scratch/chip/peel, theres no reason why it would.....He also could paint the bottom side of the plexi so it just hides the hardwood floor edge. A screw every 4-5 inches or so would probably look nice matching the vents on the sides and the long hinge. hmmm, my neighbor suggested that to me. Silicone should do the trick. Another option would be to make a trim ring that goes over the edge of the plexi to hide the seam and you can use a brad nailer to secure the trim ring in place. Easily removable by just popping off the trim ring to swap out windows. thanks for this. Does anyone have any pictures of a "frame" style plexi window in an application? This seems like the best solution for me. Quote Learning Everyday. Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD Alpine SPS-610C BXI-2008D (2) SWR-1242D / Ported
TRON
Neo-magnets, or rare earth magnets. You can buy them in doughnut shapes and put screws through the ones on the bottom, and epoxy the ones on the plexi. That way you'd be able to remove the plexi without disassembling anything. That would also work real good with multiple windows. ...though, rare earth magnets hold like glue.
