Ground to the Chassis or Run a Ground Cable? CE Auto Electric Supply Partners with D'Amore Engineering to answer - Video on Pg 5!

Now what if both connections were perfect?

Still think cable can carry the current better?

Would a frame car be a closer match to the cable?

Great answers so far.

Cant wait to see the video.

from what ive learned on SMD.. to answer those questions.. its..

1.) if both connections were perfect, copper still carries current better than steel. so the 1/0 would win there

2.) a direct shot with a superior conductor would carry the current "better"

3.) frame to car would be close, but the OFC copper should still win. now by how big of a margin? i'm not sure.

As for a unibody, i thought you ground to the thickest part oh metal, and almost every unibody has a sub frame such as where the engine is, or just run your own ground from the battery back. Dunno really lol.

Humm. Interesting.

So, regaurdless of surface area, ofc is better because it conducts better than steel..

i have NO idea honestly about that. but i personally rather run straight grounds off the batt/alt right to the amp.

and if im not mistaken, you do the same. (not entirely sure on that, i dont keep up with your builds really)

Yeah... Lets talk about unibody vs. running a ground front to back.

Sheet metal vsa 1/0 cable

Or does it even matter cause you're using a cable from the amp anyway?

The way I do it depends on where my battery bank is.

Honestly i overkill it.
