How long does it generally take to get a DC power alt?

I would call DC and ask them. That way you know from the source how long it will take.

If I have the room I prefer large case Leece Neville's 320 amps that will never leave you hanging. They also put out their true amperage rating unlike a lot the small case rebuilds. But as in everything in life sometimes you have to compromise. So if I didn't have the room for a big alt like LN I'd probably go with Singer or mechman as I have dealt with their alt's before, just not on my vehicles.
