Need help to set properly

Recommended Posts

Hi, I tried several times to set my Amps with DD-1

And i'm not sure i do it properly, can anyone help me ?

I do like that:

1: all to flat on headunit and amplifiers

2: Put RCA of my headunit to DD-1

3: Play tracks 40 hz and 100hz to see max power of headunit

4: When i see max volume without distortion ( 62 on my headunit is max and i don't have distortion ) i put max volume and set my gain on amplifier with 40hz and 100hz track ( frequencies all way up )

5: And when i do that, the manual say " Later, when you set the amplifier gain(s); you can reset these to where you feel the customer will set them, or where you will set them for your own system. "

And my problem is here, when i set as like want ( loudness ON, Eq like i want, Frequencies for speaker at 100hz and 80hz for subwoofer... ) i see distortion on amps, so i don't understand.

Can someone tell me how to do step by step?

thanks

First off what amp do you have and on what subs? Second what tracks are you using with the DD-1? Third on your amp the subsonic should be all the way down or off if possible and low pass all the way up with gain turned down and bass boost at its lowest point. You should not have to use the loud button on your deck.

I have a Hifonics BRZ 2100.1D for my DC XL 15, and Rockford Fosgate Power 600.4 for my 2 T2652-S

i put track for sound quality ( i don't remember wich track is ) and i put loudness because the sound seems clearer

I do like you said for the amps.

So my set with DD-1 is good but for the loudness i need to turn it off ?

you dont need loudness. it sounds "clearer" because it messes with the eq. boosting frequencies, mainly low and high.

if i were you, i would keep everything flat and not touch it. T2's sound great as it is. if you need to mess with the eq, then do negatives only. dont boost frequencies up.

edit: the SQ track is 0db im pretty sure.

Like kranny said. Try leaving it all flat. Than bring down the frequencies to make it sound the way you want. If you want it to sound like it does with loudness on than bring down the middle frequencies to your liking. OR DD1 with loudness on...see when clipping starts...probably alot earlier than 62
