protectedvoid
Going to order the US Composites 435 Resin and some 1.5oz chopped mat to do a custom sub enclosure in my 03 Mazda 6. This will be my first official fiberglass project in 20 years, so I need help refreshing my memory. My question is, does the 435 Resin remain tacky after it's cured? If so, does that mean you need to add the wax additive to the resin on your final layer, or does using the body filler take care of any remaining "tackiness" in the finishing stages of the project? OrionStang
Its not tacky at all when dry. My last project wasn't anyway. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
HatersGonnaHate
My project wasn't tacky either. It's really good resin to use. Cures pretty hard with the right mixture of hardener and temp conditions. protectedvoid
Okay, good. I felt like I was missing something when I read about the tack for vertical applications, etc.
protectedvoid
So, here's a follow-up: Will one of the $30 repirators from lowes or the depot with replaceable cartridges be suitable to filter out the fumes, or do I need to take that sucker back and get something from Amazon? OrionStang
Shit, I just used a little paper mask/respirator from Lowe's. Cost ~$8, didn't get too high. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

UMDSmith
That respirator with the 2 insert cartridges works "ok". You will still smell the fumes, but it definitely cuts down on the light headedness.
