HunterJohnson Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 I have a shitty hydraulic tensioner on my mechman 320. it slipped when I started the car, but now it's good. Only time it slips is when my AC is on blast at idle and music turned up then I accelerate. The main thing if its a hydraulic tensioner is to make sure it's new/good condition and let it tighten by itself. It took a few days for me. Second if it doesnt work replace with a bigger idle pulley, shorter belt, or new tensioner. Getting import cars to work on after market alts is a bitch and there is no way around it. I absolutely hated the process but I can't complain that with my saz3500 volts stay at 13.6 1 Quote Scion tC SQ BuildiPad mini, lots of fabrication, daily drivenFord Explorer C Pillar Wall Build Just a cheap car to destroy with bass
jlh2003 Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 It's not a question of which company is better... We are curious why dc power can make a 250 and 270 amp units for our cars 06-09 honda civic lx ex dx 1.8L 8th gen civic non si models.... BUT no other company can or does make bigger then a 225a, that's what makes me hesitant.. Mechman and Excessive amperage Both only make up to a 225a... I already have a 225a EA alt We were just trying to solve a debate Quote http://www.termpro.com/asp/competitorstats.asp?Competitor_ID=88276 AlphaDamp CLD Tiles - Get more sound deadening using less sound deadener http://www.secondskinaudio.com/products/AlphaDamp.php

Dc I heard was a tad ahead in technology emailed them direclty.. this is what i got back Unfortunately, we haven’t developed a Billet unit for that application yet. When we do, it will probably be around $649. Billet housings are EXPENSIVE to machine. Dc I heard was a tad ahead in technology Yes i spoke with Mechman and EA as well as dc power before I purchased my EA back in November.... Dc provided no reason why they could make a 250 or 270 and said there would be no belt slip but everyone I've asked their opinion has sad there would be.... EA & Mechman said its Bc that's the biggest that can use/make to make it go in the stock location without heavy modification Quote http://www.termpro.com/asp/competitorstats.asp?Competitor_ID=88276 AlphaDamp CLD Tiles - Get more sound deadening using less sound deadener http://www.secondskinaudio.com/products/AlphaDamp.php

Regards, Matthew Young (865)522-6166 ext 204 [email protected] see that makes less sense because I got a different answer from Eric@ Mechman, in May 2011 Hi Jonathan, We build a 220a unit for that car that produces 135a @ 700rpm, full output @ 1800rpm. $549 + shipping. It features our heavy duty rectifier and diodes, improved cooling, precision balanced rotor, premium NTN bearings, and comes with our one-year warranty and lifetime product support. Our AVBM adjustable voltage boost module is also included for this unit. It will require some minor clearancing of your factory bracket to install. Please reply to this email to insure your quote. Sheena Posted August 12, 2012 Author Report Posted August 12, 2012 this is what i got back from Singer Hello Cody The upgraded unit that I offer for your vehicle is a 185A. This alternator is a direct bolt on design for your vehicle and would be plug and play (the factory plug would go into it like the OEM unit) This alternator includes my overdrive pulley to boost the idle output (this will spin the alternator faster at low RPMS to boost idle output by around 30 to 40A more (120-130A idle @ 800rpms). The total price on this unit shipped w/ my lifetime warranty on labor is 419.
